Colorful one piece full length wrap dress coat featured at the famous "Suffering Moses" boutique known for curating all forms of artisan created wares, including works of crewel textiles.
The dress coat features an elaborate, fully embroidered floral collar and cuffs, as well as a beautiful v-neck style embroidery around the dress' neck. The back of the dress has a large arrow-style embroidery pointing down the back. The cut of this piece is really quite remarkable - the coat and dress are one and the same! One puts on the dress portion first by draping it across the front of the body, then follows that up by wrapping the coat around the back. Very cool!
The "Suffering Moses" Atelier was established in the 1840s, championing Iranian crafting traditions and merging them with the artistic customs of the Kashmir Valley - where the store resides. The atelier is headed by the Wani family whose crafting dynasty continues into the 21st century. The atelier employs artisans who meticulously handcraft each item, using techniques that date back centuries - a rare delight in these machine-embroidered times!
